Have you ever considered turning your flat roof into a pitched roof? 🤔 While it might sound like an intensely complicated process, an immaculate end product can be achieved more easily than you may think!

A flat roof can be converted to a pitched roof using the (relatively!) simple technique of a trussed roof with two angled planes. Additional valleys, angles, and gables can also be built into such converted structures as well, creating an altogether different aesthetic! 👌

Overboarding is the process of fitting a new sterling board on top of an existing roof deck, in order to completely renovate the appearance of the roof and improve the overall aesthetics 👌 The key benefit of overboading, rather than re-roofing entirely, is that it puts much less stress on the roof rafters. This stress is usually caused by the process of stripping a flat roof and can often result in cracks to the ceilings and coverings that may sit underneath. As overboarding doesn’t require this invasive ‘stripping’ process, works can be completed with much less impact on your existing roof structure.

Do you need a new roof covering for an extension, conversion, garage or bay window? 🤔 On this property in Ketley Bank, we installed a brand new flat roof, including insulation and an EPDM RubberCover 👍 We think it really enhances the look of the house!

August 2020 Projects

The lockdown period has heralded the busiest time ever for us on flat roof repairs and installations, which looks set to only continue! 🤓 Here, at this property in Saint Michael’s Close, Madeley, we installed a brand new EPDM flat roof over a window bay. EPDM is a type of rubber roofing that is an excellent alternative to asphalt or felt as it is extremely long-lasting and can withstand a host of adverse weather conditions 🌨️ We recommend EPDM rubber for use on summer houses, window bays, porch roofs and garage roofs 👍

July 2020 Projects

Check out the second part of our ‘warm roof’ installation on a block of flats in Wellington, Telford 😁 Above the top floor flats we supplied two layers of 18mm OSB ply boards with 100mm of high-quality insulation in-between, topped with a Firestone rubber cover 👍 The rubber cover we installed came all in one piece and we’re immensely proud to say that there wasn’t a crease in the rubber in sight upon completion 😎 We also crafted a brand new bespoke outlet formed into the height of the raised roof and affixed new roof lighting to the structure.

Finished picture of a rear evaluation re-roof, all passed by building control! Supply and fit of 2 new Velux Windows to replace old. Nice before and after comparison when looking at next doors!
